![]() They have Destiel merch! The bloody handprint socks are right next to the Destiel Cannon socks! Usually Hot Topic SPN merch is very outdated IMO and will often have handprints and season 1 “saving people hunting things” stuff everywhere, but Stands is cool and new. Not to get tinhatty, but I do find it a bit funny that Stands has SPN merchandise with the bloody handprint at the same time they’re working with Gish/Misha Is it even a handprint, is the biggest question Is the handprint from Cas? Sam? Jack? From another loved one that he is losing? It must be from someone in the Bunker, so that leaves us with very few options. My point is, I’m excited because this is an existing trope and we’ll have to wait and see what it means for Dean. There is even evidence to suggest this is when Finn’s force is awakened (see what I did there?) because Kylo Ren turns to Finn as he passes him for the first time in this scene, but that’s a whole other meta conversation for a fandom I only have baseline knowledge of The bloody handprint not only distinguishes him from other identical-looking Stormtroopers, but it also marks a major “wake up call” moment for Finn after he receives it he is clearly shocked about the battle and refuses to continue participating in the carnage ![]() This point in the movie (the first scene with Finn, I believe) is a shift for his character that ultimately leads him to decide to leave the Empire Here we see a fallen Stormtrooper leaves a bloody mark with their hand across the front of Finn’s helmet. ![]() While it would be !!! to have a parallel that involves a romantic pairing, I think it’s more likely a different version because it reminds me so much of another scene with a bloody hand across a white uniform and Oscar Isaac in the movie: ALT Perhaps Oscar’s character is even on the side of the war doing most of the atrocities until this moment.? Or perhaps even someone he doesn’t really know, but whose death still shows him and the audience that the “goals” of *insert war* (please correct me, I haven’t read it) come at a large price and innocent people are dying from it. I have never read Dune, so I don’t know the plot, but I do have a guess that the person leaving the handprint on Oscar’s character is not necessarily a romantic lover but instead another loved one such as a relative, friend, neighbor, or mentor (let’s see if they can avoid fridging women :P) ![]() Ooooohhh, great catch! I never even thought to check if leaving behind a bloody handprint on someone was already an existing trope! ![]()
